There were a couple of special moments this past week that we wanted to share with you.

On Friday, GVFH Christian Academy held its very first School Genius Competition final.

Our finalists – from 2nd to 5th grade – were tested in Creole, French, Math, Science, Social Studies, and general knowledge, and they truly amazed us with their confidence, focus, and ability to think under pressure.

It reminded us of the show “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” – except in our case, the two finalists who couldn’t be separated were 2nd graders!

They went head-to-head into overtime, and the entire crowd was on their feet, cheering them on.

It was one of those moments you don’t forget.

Then on Sunday, we celebrated Mother’s Day.

At GVFH LifePoint Church, the Women’s Choir sang a song, and later in the afternoon, the women gathered again – this time for a few hours of relaxation, laughter, reflection, and simple joy.

Motherhood is honored everywhere. But the resilience and strength we see in the mothers here in Haiti is something special.

Many spend long days working under the sun, carrying goods through the city, doing whatever it takes to provide for their children.

They show up. They sacrifice. And they Just. Keep. Going.

They are heroes!

We’re grateful for God’s faithfulness through the years and for the journey He’s allowed us to walk together. We look forward to all that is still ahead.

Thank you for being part of our lives and this ministry.
