A quick update on Grace for you – Soon after our last update, we had to take the tent down and take shelter inside the Mission House and vehicle. It was windy and rained heavily all night. We can not even imagine how exhausting it was for the thousands who were shelterless. This morning, the rain has slowed down and there is minimal flooding in the yard, for this we are grateful!
The earthquake emergency relief efforts continue, and we remain in shock at the level of devastation. It’s almost impossible to wrap our heads around the reach and ripple effect this earthquake has, and will have, on our lives here. Thank you for allowing us to respond to the emergency needs all around us.
Two amazing things though to share with you –
– Our God and His people are so faithful, and in times like these we see it so clearly. We continue to trust Him moment by moment to see us through.
– The people of Haiti have learned to be resilient. They have and continue to bear such heavy burdens, but when you talk to them they all say, “Gras a Dye nou vivan” which means “by God’s grace we are alive.” We all have so much to learn from them.
Thank you again for being here with us. We can’t do this without you – your prayers, words of encouragement, and support mean the world to us and we thank God for you.
