Because you are partnering here with us, we want to be sure you have the latest updates. Last week the US Embassy sent out a memo with the following message, “The Department of State urges U.S. citizens to make plans to depart Haiti now via commercial means. U.S. citizens should carefully consider the risks of traveling to or remaining in Haiti in light of the current security situation and infrastructure challenges. Widespread fuel shortages may limit essential services in an emergency, including access to banks, money transfers, urgent medical care, internet and telecommunications, and public and private transportation options.”

We appreciate your prayers, as we and others in the missionary community are watching the situation closely and reevaluating our options often. We are grateful that we are safe and things remain calm in the South. The leader of one of the gangs in the capital city gave the ok for fuel tanks to distribute fuel to the province cities for a few days, and Sunday we were able to get diesel to fill up the vehicles and start to build our reserves back up. With fuel available at the gas stations for these few days, the South is functioning and GVFH ministry is able to continue to do our work for His glory!

The sad part is that the secure fuel distribution is only guaranteed until this Thursday. According to the gangs, if the Prime Minister doesn’t resign by then, the country will go back into lockdown. No matter what, we know that Almighty God holds the power, He is in control, and He knows all the little details.

Thank you for joining us in prayer for protection, provision and discernment. We will keep you updated.
